Tree up to 30 m, with a broad-pyramidal crown. Buds ovoid. Leaves 8-18 mm, with two narrow, white stomatiferous bands beneath. Cones 15-20 mm, pale chestnut-brown. Occasionally planted for timber. [Ge.] (North America.)
