( Lycopodium selago L. ).

Stem 5-30 cm, erect, branched. Leaves imbricate, in many rows on the stem, linear to ovate-lanceolate, appressed or patent, often bearing in their axils budlike gemmae. 2n = c. 90, 264, c. 272. Most of Europe, but only on higher mountains in the south. All except BI Co Cr Gr Lu Sa Si Rs (K) Tu.
