Remarks. Our material agrees with the description and figures provided by Bouvier (1937).

Habitat. This species has been cited from muddy and shelly bottoms with pteropod and foraminifera ( Stock 1987) between 490 and 2084m. The specimens have been collected from 826 to 1808 m.

Geographical distribution. Species mainly distributed in the Atlantic Ocean. Colossendeis arcuata has been recorded from Scotland ( Bamber & Thurston 1995), the English Channel ( Stock 1984), Bay of Biscay (Stock 1978) and Morocco ( Filhol 1885; Bouvier 1937; Stock 1987; Bamber & Thurston 1993) in the East Atlantic, and near to New Scotland ( Hedgpeth 1948) and Bahamas ( Stock 1986) in the West Atlantic. This species has also been reported from Chile (Child 1992), Taiwan (Bamber 2004), Southern Australia (Staples 2007) and New Zealand ( Child 1999) in the Pacific Ocean and from Sri Lanka ( Fage 1956) in the Indian Ocean. Our specimens were collected from the north of Morocco to south of the Bank of Arguin ( Mauritania).
