Type locality— Sylvana , off Bubak Islands, Guinea-Bissau, 25–30 m.
Material examined. CCLME-1110: BT160, 1♂.
Remarks. Our material agrees with the description and figures of the holotype provided by Bouvier (1914).
Habitat. This species had been reported from shells and foraminifera bottoms ( Stock 1966), between 25 and 50 m. Our material was collected at 47 m.
Geographical distribution. Anoplodactylus polignaci had been previously recorded from Florida ( Hedgpeth 1948) and from Guinea ( Bouvier 1914; Fage 1942; Stock 1966). Our specimen was collected from the north of Mauritania.
