Holotype: PNRL 2070 (part and counterpart, body with wings and some legs preserved), stored in the collection of the Musée de Géologie , Réserve naturelle nationale géologique du Luberon, Parc naturel régional du Luberon, Apt, France.

Etymology. Named after the type locality Vachère.

Type locality and horizon. Oligocene/Rupelian (Campagne-Calavon limestone), biozone MP 23 (30.83–29.97 Ma), Pichovet near the village of Vachères, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Luberon, France.

Diagnosis. Wing characters. Wing with two dark spots separated by a hyaline part in apical part of cell between C and Sc, two dark spots separated by a large hyaline part in cell between R 1 and R 2+3, no dark spot in basal part of cell between R 2+3 and R 4+5, infuscate distal parts of cells between R 2+3 and R 4+5 and between R 4+5 and M 1; no dark spot below apex of R 2+ 3 in cell between R 4+5 and M 1, R 4+5 simply curved posteriorly; crossvein m-m very short, only 40% of basal part of M 2.

Description. Body ca 7.2 mm long, pale brown, head 0.6 mm long, 0.9 mm wide, wider than thorax; raised large ocelli; dichoptic eyes (female?), ca 0.5 mm long, 0.2 mm wide, 0.3 mm apart, antenna 0.8 mm long with probably ca 28 antennomeres; thorax 2.7 mm long; abdomen rather broad (female?), 4.4 mm long, 1.9 mm wide; wing hyaline except darkened in area between R 1 and R 2+3, wing 2.8 × as long as wide, 7.2 mm long, 2.5 mm wide; distance between Sc and R 1 apices longer than distance between R 1 and R 2+3 apices; Sc ending before m-m level; R 1 almost straight, R 2+3 simply curved; crossvein m-m very short; d-cell approximately 5.3 × as long as wide; alula not visible; hind femur 2.2 mm long, tibia 2.7 mm long, tarsus 2.8 mm long.
