Distribution in Nepal: Bagmati Province, Bhaktapur District, Mahadev Khola, Rosi Khola, Asi Khola, Upper Phirke Khola, Kavreplanchok District, Punyamata River at Shree Khandpur, Banepa, Sundarjal, Kathmandu District, Kirtipur; Gandaki Province, Kaski District, Pokhara-Phewa Tal; Koshi Province, Taplejung, Mewa Khola, Sanghu ( Sims 1963; Gates 1972; Nesemann et al. 2007).

Distribution elsewhere: Australia, Anjouan, Azores, Burma, Cape Verde, Ceylon, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, France, Hawaiian Islands, India, Italy, Madagascar, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Portugal, San Domingo, Scotland, United States, Wales ( Gates 1972; Csuzdi et al. 2008; Mandal et al. 2010; Reynolds & Mısırlıoğlu 2018).

Ecology: Epi-endogeic ( Miglani et al. 2022).

Habitat: Agricultural land; banks of river; under damp stone in forests ( Sims 1963; Nesemann et al. 2007; Miglani et al. 2022).

Remarks: It was collected from Nepal by K.H. Hyatt in 1961 and W.G. Inglis in 1962 from Mewa Khola, Sanghu, Taplejung at 1600–2000 m asl ( Nesemann et al. 2007). This species is cosmopolitan in distribution ( Blakemore 2012).
