Distribution: Endemic to Peninsular Malaysia ( King, 1900; Maxwell, 1978).

Notes: Maxwell (1978) considered this species as a synonym of M. clarkei . However, the species is reinstated again here as its morphological appearance differs from M. clarkei (see notes under M. clarkei ). Medinilla crassiramea is much closer to M. perakensis rather than M. clarkei , and is synonymized here.
