Medinilla hasseltii var. griffithii C.B.Clarke in Hook. f, Fl. Brit. India 2: 547. 1879. Type: MALAYSIA, Peninsular Malaysia, [ Malacca state], Mt. Ophir , W. Griffith KD 2282 (holo K [ K000867080 ]) .

Distribution: Endemic to Peninsular Malaysia ( Maxwell, 1978).
