141. Medinilla musofo K.Schum. & Lauterb., Fl. Schutzgeb. Südsee View in CoL : 480. 1900. Type: PAPUA NEW GUINEA, New Guinea, Kaiser Wilhelmsland, [ Morobe province], Sattelberg [Saddle Mountain], 12.12.1898, G. Bamler 11 (not found).
Distribution: Endemic to New Guinea ( Bakhuizen van den Brink, 1943).
Notes: The original type specimen of M. musofo was not found at the herbarium of the Botanischer Garten Berlin-Dahlem ( B) and assumed destroyed during the Second World War. There is no way to designate a neotype for this species at present because no other associated specimens were found in the herbaria consulted .
