63. Medinilla disparifolia C.B.Rob., Philipp. J. Sci., C Bot. View in CoL 6: 351. 1911. Lectotype (designated here) PHILIPPINES, Luzon, [ Laguna Prov], Mt. Banajao , 05– 07.03.1910, C.B. Robinson BS 9764 (K [ K000867291 ].

Medinilla loheri Merr., Philipp. J. Sci., C Bot. View in CoL 8: 248. 1913. Lectotype (designated here): PHILIPPINES, Luzon, [ Rizal province], Oriud, 08.05.1906, A. Loher 6280 (K [ K000867292 ].

Distribution: Endemic to Philippines [Luzon] ( Regalado, 1995).

Notes: Regalado (1995) erroneously designated a new type for M. disparifolia C.B.Rob. because the original type ( Robinson BS 9764) was not found at any herbarium that he consulted and assumed that the type specimen was destroyed by the fires in the Philippine National Herbarium (PNH) during the Second World War. Nevertheless, a duplicate type for M. disparifolia was found at K and designated here as the lectotype. A similar case also applies to M. loheri Merr. , where Regalado (1995) designated a new type for the same reason. However, a duplicate of the original type for M. loheri ( Loher 6280) was found at K and designated here as a lectotype.
