22. Medinilla beccariana Cogn. View in CoL in A.DC. & C.DC., Monogr. Phan. 7: 600. 1891. Lectotype (designated here): INDONESIA, Borneo, [ West Kalimantan province], di Pontianak, Danau Lamadjian, O. Beccari PB 3439 (FI [ FI007934 ]; isolecto FI [ FI007935 ]).
Distribution: Endemic to Borneo ( Cogniaux, 1891).
Notes: Regalado (1990) excluded this species from Medinilla and transferred it to P. beccariana (Cogn.) Merr. The correct basionym for Plethiandra beccariana is actually Medinillopsis beccariana Cogn. , not Medinilla beccariana ( Kadereit, 2005) . Beccari PB 3439 from the herbarium of Florence University (FI) is here chosen as the lectotype. Cogniaux (1891) erroneously cited the type locality in Sarawak. However, based on the specimen label the locality is actually around Pontianak in the West Kalimantan province, Indonesia.
