Diagnosis. SIF = 7BS-N-3-2111.11(0)00; fPp = B/N/NNB; fCx = 1.1.1; fSt = 2.2; fSc: PL> AL> AM; Ip = 666–808; fD = 2H-6-6-4-2-4-2; DS = 20–28; VS = 16–25; NDV = 42–49. Standard measurements of specimens from Turkey are given in Table 22.

Type material deposition. The species was described from Valea Lui David Nature Reserve ( Romania: IaŞi County). Two syntypes were preserved in the private collection of M. Daniel; now they are deposited in ZISP. Place of other syntypes deposition is unknown .

Kepka; eight larvae (ZISP) ex Apodemus mystacinus and Mus musculus, GümüŞhane Prov., UğurtaŞı , 1750 m a.s.l., 12 June 1998, coll. AAS ; 10 larvae (ZISP) ex Apodemus (Sylvaemus) sp. ( two specimens in theriological collection of ZISP, labelled as A. fulvipectus ), Erzurum Prov., southern slope of Mescit Range , 2100 m a.s.l., 18 June 1998, coll. AAS .

Hosts. Crocidura russula (Hermann) , Alticola roylei (Gray) , Microtus arvalis (Pallas) , M. majori Thomas , M. socialis (Pallas) , Apodemus sylvaticus (L.), Darevskia saxicola (Eversmann) , Lacerta agilis L., L. strigata Eichwald , Podarcis tauricus (Pallas) ( Kudryashova 1998) plus Microtus kirgisorum Ognev , Apodemus mystacinus (Danford and Alston) , Mus musculus L., and Eremias arguta (Pallas) .

Distribution. Romania, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan. Previous record in Turkey: Manyas Lake ( Kepka 1962). This species is here recorded from Russia ( Dagestan and Stavropolskiy Krai) and Uzbekistan for the first time.
