Distribution in Angola (Provinces): 1) LNO.
Historic records:
—Dundo (LNO) ( Gomes Alves 1959 and Ferreira 1965 sub Smaragdesthes africana Drury ).
Material examined: Angola, 1 ♀, Nº 1907 (blue label), nº 54 (white label), Crreeff leg. (label information), sub Heterorrhina africana Drury , old collection, box nº IX-78, MZUC .
Remarks. There are several subspecies in this taxon ( e.g. 26 in Beinhundner 2017a), probably some of them without taxonomic value. The larva of the third instar of C. africana was described by Kühbander & Carl (1994). Ecological data were provided by Holm & Marais (1992) for C. africana subsuturalis (Kraatz, 1891) .
