SHORT DESCRIPTION: A medium sized (7-7.5 mm) Hylaeus species with notable long and dense white hairs on the head and thorax. Females not only have a hair fringe on the first, but also on the second, third and fourth terga. Males have white on the underside of the scape, but black mandibles and labrum.
DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: West-mediterranean species with observations from the Iberian Peninsula to Switzerland ( DATHE, 2016). There are no records from the United Kingdom ( ELSE & EDWARDS, 2018), the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ( HERRERA MESÍAS & WEIGAND, 2021) and the Netherlands ( REEMER, 2018; www.waarneming.nl).
