Fig. 5 View Fig

SHORT DESCRIPTION: Small (4.5 mm) Lasioglossum species with an outstanding box-shaped head which therefore resembles L. glabriusculum (Morawitz, 1872) . The first tergite is however completely shiny and without punctures. Males do not have this striking shape of the head and are therefore more challenging to identify. Diagnosis and keys in PAULY (2021).

DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: From Israel to northern Germany and from France ( PAULY & BELVAL, 2017) to Ukraine. Also reported in Kyrgyzstan and Japan ( SCHEUCHL & WILLNER, 2016). There are no records from the United Kingdom ( ELSE & EDWARDS, 2018), the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ( HERRERA MESÍAS & WEIGAND, 2021) and the Netherlands ( REEMER, 2018; www. waarneming.nl).
