SHORT DESCRIPTION: A medium-sized (9-10mm) Andrena that resembles A. bicolor (Fabricius, 1775) . The hairs on the middle of the clypeus are however not black, but light brown. This spring bee can be found from March to May ( REEMER, 2019).

DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: This species is expanding from Southern and Central Europe towards the north ( WOOD, 2023). There are no records from the United Kingdom ( ELSE & EDWARDS, 2018) and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ( HERRERA MESÍAS & WEIGAND, 2021), but it has been recorded in the Netherlands in 2019 ( REEMER, 2019).

EU RED LIST STATUS: Least concern (LC) ( NIETO et al., 2014)

- This species was descripted as a new species for Belgium in WOOD (2023).
