Nomada (Nomada) glabella sensu (Stöckhert nec Thomson, 1870) – Belg. sp. nov.
Figs 6 View Fig , 12 View Fig A-B
SHORT DESCRIPTION: A medium-sized Nomada that is very hard to distinguish from N. panzeri (Lepeletier, 1841) . It was only recently recognised as a Nomada taxon distinct from N. panzeri ( FALK et al., 2022) . The current valid name is unclear, and so we use this nomenclatural formulation pending taxonomic revision. The species can most often be found in Vaccinium - rich forest areas where the host occurs.
HOST SPECIES: Andrena lapponica (Zetterstedt, 1838) ( FALK et al., 2022)
DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: The distribution from this species is far from complete because of historical uncertainties ( SMIT, 2018). FALK et al. (2022) mention Norway, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Ukraine, Germany, Austria and Italy besides their observations in the United Kingdom. Additionally, there are some observations from the Netherlands in the database of www.waarneming.nl. The first approved observation dates from 2020 (https://waarneming. nl/species/908110/). No records from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ( HERRERA MESÍAS & WEIGAND, 2021).
EU RED LIST STATUS: Not mentioned in the Red List, because it was not considered as a distinct taxon in 2014.
ORIGIN OF RECORDS:
- LUXEMBOURG PROVINCE. Vielsalm ; 2♀♀; 25.v.2010; leg./coll./det. J. Devalez. 1♀; 4.vi.2010; leg./coll./det. J. Devalez.
- ANTWERP PROVINCE. Kalmthout; 1♀; 26.iv.2021; leg./coll. D. De Grave; det. D. De Grave, J. Smit - Fig. 12 View Fig A-B .
COMMENTS:
- The Nomada panzeri -group is currently being revised and we expect that there will be major nomenclatural changes in the near future. Nomada ‘panzeri’ has long been known to co-occur with A. lapponica in Belgium and the Netherlands. Undoubtedly at least some of these records refer to what we now know to be Nomada glabella . We therefore expect additional older observations to be discovered in the near future.
