Nomada (Hypochrotaenia) errans (Lepeletier, 1841) View in CoL – Belg. sp. nov.
Figs 6 View Fig , 11 View Fig I-J
SHORT DESCRIPTION: A small to medium size Nomada species (5-7 mm) that looks superficially like a small N. rufipes (Fabricius, 1793) because of the pale markings on the sides of the second and third tergite and the central spot on the scutellum. Can be distinguished from this species with a series of diagnostic characters such as the orange antennae (black in N. rufipes ), the all-black sternites and the ivory-white body markings (yellow in N. rufipes ). Tergite 4 is mostly black with lateral white streaks (yellow banded in N. rufipes ).
HOST SPECIES: Andrena nitidiuscula (Schenck, 1853) ( SMIT, 2018; WESTRICH, 2018)
DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: Widespread in Central and Southern Europe where its host is present in umbellifer-rich grassland habitats ( SMIT, 2018). This species has been found in all of our neighbouring countries, except for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ( SMIT, 2018; HERRERA MESÍAS & WEIGAND, 2021). There is however only one historical observation from the Netherlands ( REEMER, 2018).
EU RED LIST STATUS: Near Threatened (NT) ( NIETO et al., 2014)
