SHORT DESCRIPTION: A rather large (7-11 mm) Nomada species that resembles N. villosa (Thomson, 1870) in size and habitus, mandibles also blunt at the apex. Both sexes have a strong tooth on the labrum and males have tubercles on the underside of antennal segments 5 to 10.
HOST SPECIES: Andrena curvungula (Thomson, 1870) and Andrena pandellei (Pérez, 1895) ( SMIT, 2018; WESTRICH, 2018).
DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: This species is widespread in Europe and occurs in the biggest part of the continent ( SMIT, 2018). It has been found in all of our neighbouring countries, except for the United Kingdom ( SMIT, 2018). The first observation from the Netherlands dates from 2020 ( FERNHOUT & RHEBERGEN, 2020).
