Fig. 4 View Fig
SHORT DESCRIPTION: Very little is known about this small Lasioglossum species ( WESTRICH, 2018; VERHEYDE & DE BLANCK, 2022). The species is probably polylectic, but was recently collected in abundance in crops of rapeseed ( Brassicaceae ) in France. It needs to be identified using a microscope. The mesonotum and propodeum are sparsely punctate and therefore shiny. The median field of the propodeum is regularly striated. The species is not included in the keys of the Belgian Fauna of PAULY (2021) but can be identified with the keys of Amiet and is illustrated on the website Atlashymenoptera PAULY (2023).
DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: According to PAULY (2023), this species seems relatively rare throughout its range, but it is preferentially found in Central to Eastern European steppes as far east as Turkey. Closer observations are known from Germany ( SCHEUCHL & WILLNER, 2016) and France ( PAULY & BELVAL, 2017). There are no observations from the Netherlands ( REEMER, 2018; www.waarneming.nl), the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ( HERRERA MESÍAS & WEIGAND, 2021) or the United Kingdom ( ELSE & EDWARDS, 2018).
EU RED LIST STATUS: Least concern (LC) ( NIETO et al., 2014)
