SHORT DESCRIPTION: A small (6 mm) Lasioglossum species that can only reliably be identified using a microscope. Females have a characteristic wrinkled pattern on the base of T1 and the scutum is sparsely punctate. Males resemble L. villosulum (Kirby, 1802) . The species is strongly restricted to vertical sandy and loamy cliffs. Diagnosis and keys in PAULY (2021).
DISTRIBUTION IN EUROPE: Warm localities in the West-Palearctic. From Algeria to Poland and from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ( HERRERA MESÍAS &WEIGAND, 2021) to Iran ( SCHEUCHL & WILLNER, 2016). No records from the Netherlands ( REEMER, 2018; www.waarneming.nl) or the United Kingdom ( ELSE & EDWARDS, 2018), but it is known from France ( PAULY & BELVAL, 2017) and Germany ( SCHEUCHL & WILLNER, 2016).
