Holotype: UPNG 7431 (formerly AMNH 76097), no data recorded in UPNG register but noted as from mountains at head of Kua River Valley , 5300-7100ft, Huon Peninsula, Morobe Province, PNG ( H.M. Van Deusen, S.O. Grierson, 26.viii.1964) in AMNH register.
Paratypes: UPNG 7424-30, 7432-33, data as for holotype.
Remarks: Entire type series of ten specimens in UPNG. Type series was part of a larger series in AMNH reported by Zweifel (1972). Description gave the data for the type series as upper Kau River valley, 1630-2130m, Rawlinson Mts, Morobe Province, PNG (H.M. van Deusen, S.O. Grierson, vii.1964). Holotype and paratypes 7429-30, 7432- 33 are largely macerated sacs of bone, with some tags missing. Paratypes 7424-25, 7427 not found. Paratypes 7426, 7428 are in good condition.
