Holotype: UPNG 4393, Lae, Morobe Province, PNG ( J.I. Menzies, 9.iii.1974).
Paratypes: UPNG 4143, as for holotype, but date 15.iii.1973; 4389-92, as for holotype.
Remarks: Type series consists of seven specimens ( Menzies & Tyler 1977: 453), although eight numbers were given in the description ( paratype cited in description as UPNG 4389 is now AMNH A90767 View Materials (L. Ford, pers. comm.), also listed in the description); other paratypes in AMNH, SAMA. Only holotype and paratypes 4143, 4390 found. Description gave the locality for the holotype as 11km N Lae, and for the UPNG paratype series as within a few hundred metres of the type locality.
