Holotype: UPNG 2490, 3km S of McDowell Island, Purari River , Gulf Province, PNG ( J. Menzies, x.1971).

Paratypes: UPNG 2470-88, 2491-94, 2496-98, data as for holotype; 3798-3805, 3814-15, Daru, Western Province, PNG ( F. Parker, iii.1973) ; 3802-03, Brown River , Central Province, PNG ( F. Parker, 23.iii.1973) ; 8530-33, 9.6km E of Haia, 1100m, 6 o 43'S 145 o 05'E, Crater Mountains , Simbu Province, PNG (W. Crill, 21.viii.1991) GoogleMaps ; 9087, Ok Ma swamp, 5.5km Ok Ma Rd, Western Province, PNG (S. Richards, M. Cunningham, R. Alford, D. Bickford, viiviii.1995) .

Remarks: Type series consists of 42 specimens; remaining paratypes in SAMA. Description gave date of collection of holotype and associated paratypes as ix.1971 and date for 3798-3805, 3814-15 as i.1969; locality for 9087 was given as "by the Ok Ma". Electronic database gives ID for 3802 as Litoria amboinensis , and for 3803 as Litoria impura , both from Brown River, Central Province, within the series 3798-3805, which are otherwise registered as Litoria gracilenta (the former species identification for L. auae ) from Daru; 8531-33 are not listed in the electronic database, but we presume the data are the same as for 8530. Specimens not examined.
