Sphenomorphus brunneus Greer & Parker 1974: 38 .

Paratypes: PNGM R23449-51 (formerly both 17394-96 and R577-79), Karimui, Simbu Province, PNG ( F. Parker, 6- 7.x.1966); R22350 (formerly both 10490 and R1009), Emeti, Bamu River , Western Province, PNG ( F. Parker, 1.xi.1970).

Remarks: Type series consists of 394 specimens; holotype in MCZ, other paratypes in AMNH, CAS, MCZ. Specimens listed on the card file as S. schoedei (a synonym of S. solomonis ), in good condition.
