Paratype: PNGM A22321 View Materials (formerly A13489 View Materials ), Bainyik, Wewak, East Sepik Province, PNG ( F. Parker, 20.xi.1976) .
Remarks: Type series consists of 117 specimens, 47 males and 70 females ( Menzies 1987: 395), although registration numbers for 49 males and 76 females were cited ( Menzies 1987: 416, 418). Holotype in UPNG, remaining paratypes in AMNH, BMNH, RMNH, UPNG, USNM, ZMA, ZMB. Description did not indicate the locality for this specimen, which is in good condition. This species was synonymised with Rana papua Lesson (1830) by Menzies (1992).
