Rana garritor Menzies 1987: 393 View in CoL .

Paratypes: PNGM A22237 (formerly A19218 View Materials according to label on specimen, A13218 according to registration card), along Sapi Creek , Gogol, Madang Province, PNG ( J. Iruru, 5.vi.1974) ; A22548 View Materials (formerly A19685 View Materials according to label on specimen, A19285 according to registration card), lower Kaironk village [valley?], Madang Province, PNG ( G. Jackson, 1966) ; A22665 (formerly A19402 View Materials , R1927), Sempi , 5mi N of Alexishafen, Madang Province, PNG (collector not recorded [probably R. Zweifel from his personal field number attached to specimen], 12.x.1969) .

Remarks: Type series consists of 64 specimens, 38 males and 26 females ( Menzies, 1987: 393), although registration numbers for 41 males and 25 females were cited ( Menzies, 1987: 415, 417). Holotype in UPNG, remaining paratypes in AMNH, BMNH, RMNH, UPNG. Menzies did not indicate the localities for paratypes, but merely listed them by region and sex. A22665 is presumably the paratype given as A22655 – the latter specimen is a small Rana from Itikinumu, 2000ft, Central Province (F. Parker, 18.viii.1968), which does not agree with the broad region (northern PNG) given by Menzies for this paratype. All three paratypes in reasonable to excellent condition.
