Holotype: UPNG 5621, Finimterr, Ok Tedi, 2133m, grid reference WK365318, Western Province ( J.I. Menzies, D.H. Hyndman, i.1985).
Remarks: For depositories of type series, see account under PNGM types. Description gave the locality as Finimterr, 2100m, Hindenburg Plateau, Star Mountains. Electronic database incorrectly gives this number as Rana kreffti from New Ireland. Holotype in good condition.
