Holotype: UPNG 8203, near Makwam, Arfak Mts , West Papua Province, Indonesia ( J. Menzies, I. Craven, date not recorded).

Paratypes: UPNG 8204-08, data as for holotype.

Remarks: Entire type series of six specimens in UPNG. Paratype 8204 is cited in the description as an adult male with 20 newly hatched young; a series of 23 hatchlings are in a jar labelled 8209, although this number does not appear in the description. Paratypes 8205-07 were sent to MZB on 28.viii.1989, although they were not listed among the type specimens in that collection by Iskandar and Mumpuni (2003); they are now registered as MZB Amph. 2801 (Mumpuni, pers. comm.). Paratypes 8204, 8208 not found. Description gave the collection data for the type series as track between Makwam and Minyambou, ca 1500m, northern Arfak Mts, West Papua Province, Indonesia (I. Craven, viii.1988). Holotype seen, in good condition.
