Holotype: UPNG 3480, Mt Elimbari GoogleMaps , 2500m, 6 o 12'S 145 o 09'E, Simbu Province, PNG ( J.I. Menzies, 5.iv.1972).
Paratypes: UPNG 3481-3503, same data as holotype.
Remarks: Entire type series of 24 specimens in UPNG. Paratype 3502 is a cleared-and-stained osteological preparation; 3482, 3486, 3496 are muscle preparations. Paratypes 3494-95, 3499-500, 3502-03 not found. The description gave the date for the series as 29.iv.1972. Located types in good condition except for their artificial red coloration ( cf. Kraus & Allison 2005b).
