Origin of samples

We examined 507 specimens of C. durissus ( 228 males and 279 females) from the Brazilian Cerrado in the states of Distrito Federal (DF), Goiás (GO), Mato Grosso (MT), Minas Gerais (MG) and Tocantins (TO) ( Figure 1 View Figure 1 ; Appendix). The specimens are housed in the following collections: ColeÇão Herpetológica da Universidade de Brasília ( CHUNB); Setor de Herpetologia-Répteis da ColeÇão Zoológica da Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso ( UFMT-R); Centro de Estudos e Pesquisas Biológicas da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Goiás ( CEPB-PUCG) and Alphonse Richard Hoge, Instituto Butantan ( IBSP) .
