non Acrorrhinium Noualhier, 1895 View in CoL – Gorczyca 1994: 181.

Diagnosis

Easily distinguished from other cylapines by the following combination of characters: body strongly elongate ( Figs 35 View Figs 35–36 , 43 View Figs 43–49 ); head with protruding, pointed frons and compressed clypeus ( Figs 43–45 View Figs 43–49 ); procoxae much longer than meso- and metacoxae ( Fig. 44 View Figs 43–49 ); scent gland efferent system weakly developed, restricted to posterior angle of metepisternum ( Fig. 46 View Figs 43–49 ); central row of tiles on pretarsal unguitractor absent ( Fig. 47 View Figs 43–49 ).

Remarks

As misplaced previously under a unique hallodapine genus Acrorrhinium ( Gorczyca 1994) , Rhinophrus is characterized primarily by the remarkably slender body shape ( Fig. 43 View Figs 43–49 ) and a projection on the frons ( Fig 44 View Figs 43–49 ). However, the plausible systematic position of Rhinophorus is yet to be determined (see Discussion below).
