Hygropoda linearis ( Simon, 1903) View in CoL . New combination.

Hypsithylla linearis Simon, 1903: 38 , immature female holotype from Antongil, Madagascar, type not found in the collection of Muséum National d´Histoire Naturelle, Paris (MNHN) (not examined).

Note. The type-specimen of the type species was not found in the collection of MNHN (Christine Rollard, pers. comm.), but Simon (1903: 38) mentioned long and flexible tarsi in the original description, a character known only from Hygropoda View in CoL and Megadolomedes Davies & Raven, 1980 View in CoL in Pisauridae View in CoL . Other characters that could be used to differentiate the members of Hygropoda View in CoL from those of Megadolomedes View in CoL are: relative length of legs ( 4123 in Megadolomedes View in CoL and 123 in Hygropoda View in CoL ), geographic distribution ( Megadolomedes View in CoL is endemic to Australia), body size ( Megadolemedes females are much larger than males), eye proportions (AME nearly the same size as ALE in Megadolomedes View in CoL ) and cheliceral promargin and retromargin teeth (three/ three in Hygropoda View in CoL and three/ four in Megadolomedes View in CoL ). The differences between the genera presented here are based only on non-genitalic characters, once there is no information on genitalic characters for H. linearis , since the only known specimen is a juvenile.
