status

So far, Acrosternum heegeri Fieber, 1861

( Heteroptera : Pentatomidae ) has been reported for the Canary islands of La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura ( HEISS, 1997; AUKEMA et al., 2013; ROCA-CUSACHS et al., 2020).

The island of Lanzarote can be added to the list of the distribution of A. heegeri in the Canary archipelago: On 28-11-2021, a nymph ( Fig. 2 View Fig ) was found in Playa Blanca, located in the south of the island. The nymph was found behind an apartment in the Elba Hotel complex (James Senn, pers. comm.). A photograph of the specimen was uploaded to the online database iNaturalist (see here).

Furthermore, on 17-03-2024 an adult specimen of this species was found in the same apartment complex where the above mentioned nymph had been found. A photograph of that specimen was uploaded to the online database Observation.org (see here).
