Krombeinella gaullei ( Invrea 1952) , stat. nov.

Myrmosa nigriceps var. gaullei Invrea 1952: 20 , ♂, ( holotype – " Constantinopoli " ( Turkey, Istanbul), 29.VI 1919, De Gaulle, in Mus. Nat. d'Hist. Natur., Paris.

Krombeinella nigriceps gaullei: Lelej 2002: 18 (European Turkey).

Krombeinella nigriceps: Invrea 1952: 19 , 2 ♀ ["Constantinopoli" ( Turkey, Istanbul)]; Yildirim 2006: 278, ♂ ( Bilecik).

Material examined. Turkey: Bilecik: 600 m, 15.VIII.1995, 3 ♂ (identified by G. Pagliano as Krombeinella nigriceps ) . Bulgaria: Slancev Brjag , 28.VI-17.VII.1971 ( Z. Pádr), 2 ♂ [ IBSS] .

Distribution. Turkey: European ( Istanbul) and Asian ( Bilecik) parts, Bulgaria (new record).

Remarks. The male of K. gaullei differs from K. nigriceps S.S. Saunders 1850 by having black mesoscutellum and metanotum (red in K. nigriceps ) and by lacking precoxal denticles on mesopleuron beneath. The female of this species (with the same label as holotype) was described ( Invrea 1952) as K. nigriceps . We deem these characters significant to warrant designation as a discrete species.
