Steleops coconuco sp. nov.
( Figs 131–137 View FIGURES 131–137 )
Diagnosis. Belonging to group buitrerensis . It differs from the other species of the group by presenting the Rs-M veins joined by a short transverse vein ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 131–137 ) and in details of the shape of the different phallosome parts and the hypandrium. Unlike S. iguaquensis , it presents hypandrium with two basal acuminate processes and a central area with field of abundant setae as in many of the species in the group ( Fig. 136 View FIGURES 131–137 . Similar species such as S. buitrerensis , have small and apically rounded teeth on the left edge of the hypandrium, and a completely brown pterostigma. It differs from S. enderleini sp. nov., due to having a smaller number of teeth on the left margin of the hypandrium and in the shape of the left paramere.
Male. Color (in plate and 80% ethanol). Head ( Fig. 133 View FIGURES 131–137 ) yellowish, with Y-shaped dark brown spot from the base of the compound eyes to the anteclypeus, labrum brown. Black compound eyes. Forewing ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 131–137 ) completely hyalines, veins and pterostigma brown. Hindwings ( Fig. 132 View FIGURES 131–137 ) hyalines, veins brown. Epiproct and paraprocts pale brown to cream. Hypandrium brown. Legs pale brown.
Morphology. As in diagnosis, plus the following: Head ( Fig. 133 View FIGURES 131–137 ): H/MxW: 1.10; compound eyes large, pedunculated, H/D: 2.40; IO/MxW: 0.75. Vertex V–shaped wide, below upper level of compound eyes, slightly sinuous and almost straight in the medial area. Outer cusp of lacinial tips with four very short denticles. Forewings ( Fig. 131 View FIGURES 131–137 ): L/W: 2.56. Pterostigma pedunculated: lp/wp: 4.25, areola postica: al/ah: 1.56. Hindwings ( Fig. 132 View FIGURES 131–137 ): l/w: 2.75 Hypandrium asymmetrical ( Fig. 136 View FIGURES 131–137 ), medial band with dense groups of setae on tubercles, left margin with 12 teeth, right margin with small striations and small distal teeth; phallosome ( Fig. 137 View FIGURES 131–137 ) rhomboid, asymmetric, aedeagus apically acuminate and curved to the right. Left and right paramere distally rounded. Epiproct ( Fig. 134 View FIGURES 131–137 ) projected on the clunium, pyriform, with rounded apical and basal margin, with setae and spicules as illustrated. Paraprocts ( Fig. 156 View FIGURES 152-158 ) oval in lateral view, with apical process shorter than the body of the paraproct, sub straight, apically curved inward like a small hook, sensory fields with 40-42 trichobothria on basal rosettes.
