Type species: Lecanium marsupiale Green, 1904 View in CoL .
Generic diagnosis of adult female, based on adult females, adapted from Hodgson (1994) and Łagowska et al. (2017). Dorsal derm with radial lines extending mesad from margin. With a group of ventral tubular ducts present on either side of genital opening. Each stigmatic cleft with 2 stigmatic spines, 1 on anterior margin and other on posterior margin. Preopercular pores present or absent. Each anal plate without a subdiscal seta. Multilocular disc-pores, when present, each with 4, 5 or 6 loculi. Anal cleft with sclerotization around its anterior margin. Marginal setae strongly spinose and pointed, subequal to or longer than stigmatic setae. Tibia and tarsus fused, without segmentation.
