Lectotype (Majumdar & Bakshi in Taxon 28: 353. 1979): [icon] “Curutu-pala” in Rheede, Hort. Malab. 1: 83, t. 46. 1678.

Current name: Tabernaemontana alternifolia L. View in CoL ( Apocynaceae ).

Note: The type of this formerly little-used name is identifiable as material of the widespread T heyneana Wall., and Middleton & Leeuwenberg (in Taxon 47: 481. 1998) therefore proposed T. alternifolia for rejection against T. heyneana . However, this was not recommended by the Committee for Spermatophyta (in Taxon 49: 272. 2000).
