Diagnosis: Larva without spinose zone within or near Haller’s organ; dorsal plate present; 2 pairs of postcoxal setae; 10 pairs of dorsolateral setae. Nymphs and adults lack cheeks, dorsoventral groove and hood; preanal and postanal groove shallow; transverse post-anal groove short, perpendicular to median post-anal groove, resembling ventral paired organs of Carios ; tarsi and metatarsi without humps.
Etymology: Apanaskevichiella gen. nov. is named for Dmitry Apanaskevich to acknowledge his substantial contribution to the taxonomy of ticks.
Distribution: Australia.
