Type species: — Opilionomyces dicranolasmatis View in CoL
Etymology:―The name means a fungus (- myces) on Opiliones View in CoL .
Receptacle consisting of a uniseriate row of superposed cells, some of which form a “pedicel” in the lower portion,
under the cell bearing the perithecium, the others above, in the upper part, adnate and delineating the dorsal side of the perithecium. Perithecium with well-defined basal (m, n, n’) and stalk-cells (VI, VII). Perithecial outer wall consisting of 4 vertical rows of 4 cells each; the three upper tiers of wall cells (w 2-4) equal in height but much shorter than the lower tier (w 1).
