Subspecies: V. p. syriaca Pocock, 1936.
Distribution: Common with a wide distribution along the Euphrates Valley, coastal region, Orontes Basin, Sahl Al-Ghab, middle of Al-Badia, around Damascus, and towards the southwestern region ( Fig. 83 View FIGURE 83 ).
Previous records: Damascus ( Pocock 1941), Daraa district ( Peshev & Al Hossein 1989), Tafas, Mesiaf and east of Ghota ( Shehab 2002) Palmyra, Idleb, vicinity of Salamiyah, Deir ez-Zor ( Masseti 2009), Palmyra ( Serra et al. 2009a, b).
Recent records: Haweijat Kate’e, Muhasan, As-Suwar, Al-Khraiteh (2009–2010), Maadan, Al-Misrab, Al-Kishmeh, Al-Haffah, an-Nasriyeh, Al-Qerdaha, Datkhein, Istamo, Ain Albeida, Mueayzilah, Muhasan, Dehbash, Slenfeh, vicinity of Latakia, Al-Qanjara, Al-Mzeiraa, vicinity of Tartous, Jnata, Kasab, Salkhad and Al-Msherfeh (2020– 2023).
