Subspecies: M. f. syriaca ( Nehring, 1902).
Distribution: Common with a wide distribution in Aleppo to the coastal and southwestern regions, but it seems rare in the Orontes Basin and Sahl Al-Ghab ( Fig. 82 View FIGURE 82 ).
Previous records: Near Damascus ( Pocock 1941), Slenfe mountains ( Serra 2004), Al-Ghota ( Masseti 2009), Al-Furunlok ( Daoud & Khalil 2009b).
Recent records: vicinity of Sweida, Jasim, Al-Haffah, Mashqita, Yabroud, Al-Qteilbiyeh, Hamam Wasil, Bloudan, Bustan Al-Basha, Mare’, Jaiboul, Beit Kammunah, Jabal Slandrein, Al Lajat, Ras al-Ayn (northeast of Damascus), Al-Qrayya, Jabla and Al-Isawiyah (2020–2023).
