Subspecies: N. n. lebanoticus Harrison, 1962.
Distribution: Rare; recorded from the coastal and southwestern region ( Fig. 76 View FIGURE 76 ).
Previous records: Safita and Mount Hermon ( Benda et al. 2006).
Remarks: The Levantine N. noctula populations ( Syria, Lebanon, Palestine) are traditionally considered as a separate subspecies, N. n. lebanoticus, based on coloration traits and biogeographic grounds (see Benda et al. 2006). However, this affiliation still requires confirmation by a molecular genetic analysis.
