Subspecies: M. m. macrocephalicus Harrison & Lewis, 1961.

Distribution: Rare; confined to the mountainous terrains along the coastal region, at Aleppo, and into the southwest of the country. ( Fig. 71 View FIGURE 71 )

Previous records: Qal’at Al-Hosson ( Harrison & Lewis 1961; Nadachowski et al. 1990), Aleppo ( Spitzenberger 1996), Latakia, Qal’at al-Hosson, Qal’at Al-Marqab, and Mount Hermon ( Benda et al. 2006), Hamama and Qal’at Al-Madiq ( Shehab et al. 2007), and Al-Dawwar Cave ( Al-Ramadan et al. 2020).
