Subspecies: Monotypic species.

Status: Occasional; a single specimen was found stranded dead along the coast of Tartous in 2005 ( Gonzalvo & Bearzi 2008; Ibrahim 2008; Ibrahim 2011a) ( Fig. 119 View FIGURE 119 ).
