status

31. Yellow-necked Field Mouse, Apodemus (Sylvaemus) flavicollis (Melchior, 1834) View in CoL

(IUCN Red List: LC)

Subspecies: A. f. pohlei Aharoni, 1932.

Distribution: Uncertain status but apparently rare; reported from different habitats along the coastal region, Al-Badia and the southwestern region. ( Fig. 37 View FIGURE 37 ).

Previous records: Kafroun in the coastal region and Al-Qaryatein in Al-Badia ( Aharoni 1932), and Jubata Forest (Jubata Al Khashab) in the southwestern region ( Shehab et al. 2018).

Remarks: Harrison & Bates (1991) mentioned that Aharoni (1932) described Apodemus mystacinus from Kafroun, but, in fact, Aharoni described only A. flavicollis from Kafroun in western Syria.
