A shrubby species endemic to the state of Minas Gerais, in southeastern Brazil, found only in the municipalities of Grão Mogol and Serranópolis de Minas ( Barbosa et al. 2018). It occurs in the Cerrado domain, from 867 to 1100 m elevation.
Notes:— This species is morphologically similar to Croton muscicapa but differs by having staminate flowers with a greater number of stamens ( 14–17 in C. graomogolensis vs. 11 in C. muscicapa ), as also highlighted by Barbosa et al. (2018). The species also resembles C. aemulus (see comments under C. aemulus ).
