The original spelling is incorrect, as the neuter form of insularis is insulare, which would agree with Monomorium . This name was corrected to insularus by Ettershank (1966), which is an unjustified emendation under Art 33.2.3, as "insularus " is not a Latin word, and insularis is already an adjective in the masculine gender.
