Chelaner croceiventre — Monomorium croceiventre Emery, 1914: 407 View in CoL
This species-group name is a compound word derived, likely derived from the adjective croceus and the noun ventris. Article 31.2.1 notes that "a species-group name that is a simple or compound noun (or noun phrase) in apposition need not agree in gender with the generic name with which it is combined," and the Glossary defines 'noun phrase' as "a compound word consisting of a noun combined with another noun or modifying adjective, the compound being treated as a noun in apposition." Since croceiventre is an adjective–noun compound, it is treated as a noun in apposition, and the original spelling must be retained without change (Article 34.2.1).
