Diagnosis

Nymph: Lateral margin of anterior projection of head without indentation; thorax with epimera and episterna not projected laterally*; inner margin of mid and hind femora without protuberances at base of setae; posterior margins of abdominal terga without spines; lateral margin of abdominal terga without fine, simple setae; abdominal posterolateral projections present on segments VIII–IX*; outer lamella of gill I absent* ( Fig. 2O); inner lamella of gill IV absent* ( Fig. 2U); inner margin of outer lamella of gill IV with long, simple setae* ( Fig. 2U).

Imago: Vein MA bifurcates next to the base of front wing ( Fig. 4D); penis lobe without proximal sclerotized process ( Fig. 4F).

Distribution

Neotropical, Palaearctic and Madagascan regions.
